Four years of Mog ownership, currently with Mog No.2 and fitted the Tonneau for the first time ever today. Question is why, can't see the point, am I missing something, I like the side panels on as usual set up, so if it rains I can put up the hood, when I park and want some degree of security or if on tour and parked outside overnight I put up the hood. When does one therefore use the Tonneau?

If parked up without side screens it'll protect the leather from strong sunlight

I use mine quite a lot - in good weather for parking rather than leave it open or putting the hood up. If sidescreens on I tuck it behind them. Also in winter I use the tonneau if I`m(as usual) on my own. I zip open the driver`s side , cover the passenger side with tonneau and put the heater on - it gives quite a bit of warmth at least to one side of the body! Will use it overnight at the NEC to keep the falling c£$$%p and bird muck off the car - even though parked inside.

Little bit of security, as things like Jackets, hats and whatever are not in open display when parked up

I use mine about 90% of the time--makes a lot of sense on an older four seater. Wrestling with that big heavy hood is no fun.

Quick, easy and keeps the seats cool!
But this might only apply in some climates!

When parking in the forest, it keeps leaves and pine needles from entering the interior. Its also a way of avoiding bird droppings in the interior.
I find using the sidescreens and top abit too fiddly.

Agree on the winter driving alone. works a treat if you have one, which the roadster hasn't.

The Tonneau and easy up hood are not easy bedfellows, when fitted it is fine but open folding it back is an art and it is almost impossible not to foul the seat belts.
As has been said it doesn't really work with side screens, although it could, I think, be modified to do so.
I get all the protection/security reasons why fitting it when parked makes sense, but it is quicker to pop the hood up.
All in all it is a nice idea, works well with the traditional hood but with the easy up hood is a bit superfluous.
