It turns out that its 'grammatical content' is as futile as that of the MSCC Senior who took the trouble to write to us some years ago to say that 'the apostrophe' in our 'All Morgans' Day' advert should be after the 's'.

This sounds like sour grapes to me. Is it not possible the MSCC Senior's advice was offered with the best of intentions?
As to the grammatical content of the thread, it's usefulness is a matter of opinion. Personally, I found the drift more interesting and informative than the topic.
Maybe you knew what a tonneau is or perhaps you just have an aversion to being corrected, which would explain your reaction to your greengrocer's apostrophe? To my shame I didn't, so I'm grateful to Hamwich for his contribution. Maybe the subtlety of the wit demonstrated by Richard is lost on you?

Apologies Frank - uncalled for in your case!

Expensive for whom?

All the best for your H4H thumbs up appeal. Has there been much support for it?

[color:#003300]Hello Ken,

Only expensive for me, if my stupid comments lose friends.

Retired and living in this sort of internet vacuum as I tend to be, we need all of the friends that we have made.

Thumbs Up for Heroes has not really inspired too many people with the only support coming from Talk Morgan contributors, for which I am very grateful.

The Facebook event, where the idea began, has failed. However I will keep re posting it, ever hopeful.

I received a fantastic anonymous donation today which has raised the total so far to £90.00, which is a fantastic amount. A massive Thank You to that person for their generous support.

A Serving Military Fundraiser once told me that £0.01 donated is worth its weight in gold to H4H.

Best Wishes
Frank

Frank, I can't believe you will have lost any friends over this. I would hope it has raised awareness of your commitment to raising funds for H4H and help you reach your target.

The one that infuriates me is the use of "myself" instead of "me"

One that irritates is the very common request from kids..."..can I get.." instead of "can I have"!!i just do not get it!!
