I think it depends on the individuals, and love doesn't consider such things. MrsW is one year older than me..........
I know a couple with a 14 year gap. He is now 63 - looks older, and with three kids under 10. She is much younger looking than her 49 years and he is usually taken as the grandfather - this happens all the time when they are out together.
But then again, wealthy old blokes can pull women much younger than themselves. A bloke at work has just pulled this off and he's not even wealthy. He is late fifties, she is mid twenties.

My wife is 11 years younger than me. Im 55 and we have been together 20 years so we were the same as you back then.

I always understood the relevant rule of thumb to be half your age + 7, so at 35 this would indicate a young lady of 24 would be fine. My father was 11 years older than my mother, they married in 1953 and stayed married until his death 50 years later, so I say go for it!

Better you being the older than the other way round I think. 11 years isn't much if the guys older. In my case it's 15, but both our kids are all grown up so I don't think I suffer from the grandad problem, least it's not come up in the 7 years we've been together.
Also can change depending on the time of life you make the comparison.. My father is 95 and his wife 80, same gap as me but who would know?
