My navigator has declared that for any future long trips she needs something to put her feet on. I know Librands make a foot locker unit but it is a very full price. However if thats what it takes to keep the navigator happy i guess its a small price to pay. My question is, has anybody any experience of these foot lockers and has anybody got any alternative ideas (other than get a taller navigator !!)?

I have a foot locker in my Roadster R100 which is excellent for my wife. Not so good when you drive to give your 6'3" friend a ride !!

I had a foot locker on my 2006 4/4, handy to lock away valuables but to be honest it was just a footrest in my car. I think you can buy an aluminium foot rest which is just that. Try some of the car racing guys websites.

That's the one I was thinking about in Richards post.

Being a cheapskate I bought a large petty cash box from Staples for £9.99 and screwed it to the floor in the passengers footwell under the carpet. From the outside it looks like a large footrest that is carpeted. All of 5 min to fit and a fraction of the cost. It will not hold a large camera but a small one, spare cash and cards, whatever you want to put in it I guess. I have another one on the bulkhead (above my shins area) under the bonnet to keep tools and spares in. Seems to work fine and the footwell one has been there in 3 Morgan's now

I have the Librands foot locker and it has two major advantages and one disadvantage over not having anything. Whilst I wouldn't keep a camera in there, as one of the adverts shows, as it would probably be shaken to bits, it's really useful to have a secure place to keep documents like breakdown cover, insurance etc. As a footrest my wife loves it as she is much more comfortable and feels more secure in the car, it was her idea when we were speccing up the new car. My youngest son is not so keen as he has very long legs and was able to stretch out his legs in our last two Morgan's but can't in this one. If you do get one you might have to re glue the rubber facing strips as modern Morgan's have very effective heaters and the heat melted the glue used on mine. Finally, unless you are a contortionist, to open and shut the storage compartment you have to get out of the car and lean into the footwell so personally I wouldn't use it to store items that you need regular acces to.

I fitted the 'Car Builder Solutions' footrest and have been very pleased with it. Not wishing to offend Morgan purists who only listen to the engine note but it also neatly hides a small powered sub woofer which 'beefs up' the ICE sound stage quite nicely......

I made a small box from wood with a sloping face, covered the face with matching carpet (measured the footwell to get a tight fit) it enables me to store small items (not securely though I suppose you could put a lid on it) my wife can rest / brace her feet on it and if a taller passenger is in you can simply remove it and place it under the hood, you can make the box any size to fit any Mog and any size passenger.
