I suspect that this misconception is grounded on the fact that lotus used to offer this option, and caterham still do - so people assume that it is the case with Morgans. Good point - I think you might be right

I note that in the description on one of the ebay pages it states that the manufacturer is Morgan. Since the vehicle is being sold by a trader someone ought to stamp on them under the Trades Description Act or at the very least complain to ebay.

A lot of kit cars have followed the Morgan style with separate wings and a flat screen - I think that's why.
Anyone who asks that question isn't a true petrol head.

Morgan did not build this so can't be the manufacturer. I think they're having a laugh. Spend £16k on something that looks like an elephant sat on it? What's going on with those doors?! I think for that money I wou,d have NothernMorgan's take on it. Anyway, we don't want everybody in our select club. If you don't know enough about them you not ready to own one.

I have been asked quite a few times if the car is a kit?
Did I build it?
As well as the wooden chassis one!
As for calling that car a Morgan....the wording does say Morgan replica...so it's likely that only an uninformed buyer would be tempted? If I wrre Morgan I would at least contact that garage/ builder to make them "worried".
Ferrari clamped down on a replica company selling body kits for MX5 based conversions...
Bugatti owners are also in a bit of a nervous time re authenticity due to replicas being claimed to be " tax exempt" as they are copies of originals!

I was sitting in the car the other day when a woman with two young children came over and told them look at that chitty chitty bang bang car! Their mouths dropped open so I just smiled and gave them a wave. Did not want to spoil thre illusion.
