Has anybody changed the clutch actuation from cable to hydraulic. I've got a new zetec engine and type 9 gearbox but the clutch is hard to operate. I thought a hydraulic clutch operating a release bearing via a gearbox nose slave cylinder would work. My problem is what mods would I need to do to get a hydraulic master cylinder installed.

The clutch pedal has strong return spring. My previous 1981 Morgan 4/4 had a broken return spring and a very light wire operated clutch. It is perhaps worth looking at the return spring before making major mods.

The pedal end would be simple enough - this is a new Trad at Cheltenham.

Are you sure the cable is moving freely and the pedal moving freely on the shaft? Another thing to look out for is that the extension on the back of the pedal arm (the bit that the cable nipple goes into) hasn't bent, thus loosing leverage.
