I don't mean to be put too fine a point on it, but who exactly is "Mark Evans"? And if he's an authorized MMC rep, how come he clearly isn't identified as such, with both a special avatar and personal introduction, maybe even his own forum?

This is the easy stuff, yes?

And let's not look a gift horse in the mouth.

Hi WilsonLaidlaw

We do not have a Morgan dealer called Esprit Competition in France, I'm assuming these parts have been ordered through Marcassus sport. Please confirm?

I'll look forward to your call later today.

For those of you that are unaware of who I am or what I do within Morgan Motor Company please see the following;

I began employment at the Factory in June 2001 within the parts department.

Three years ago I was made Aero Racing Manager, Aero Racing is the after sales arm of MMC.

I'm responsible for Parts/ Service / Warranty /The Race Team (and all associated aspects within these facets of the company)

I rarely post on Talk Morgan, but do follow a number of threads. Obviously I don’t normally post during the working day, however this particular thread demands our attention.

Following a very helpful conversation with Mark Evans this morning, it would appear that the problem lies with a communication issue between the two French parties. However I have been assured that the parts are now delivered to France and have been forwarded to be sitting waiting for me at Esprit Competition (my local sub-contractor for Marcassus Sport near Toulouse). It may be that they are in the middle of moving from Aubagne to the Paul Ricard circuit at Le Castellet at present. which might explain the lack of communication.

Marcassus Sport may even have a right hand exhaust in hand, as I suspect the weld on my broken one may not last very long and I don't know how long the welders will take. The stainless steel looks rather burnt at that point, as it is just where the exhaust gasses are first slowed by the baffles, and I would not be surprised if it had become somewhat brittle, due to heat accelerated age hardening. I will actually get both sides of the exhaust to have a new spare in stock for the LHS. It will either ensure that the LHS never brakes (reverse Murphy's law) or if it does, I have a spare ready to fit.

I would add that I have always found Mark Evans to very helpful and service driven.

An example of one ( that is me!) is not universal of course - but I can call on my last three and a half years of experience.

I do always find that if you approach any company in a reasonable manner then you get a result!I do not think that MMC are any different in this respect.

BTW for the record I am not even hinting that this is not always the case with MMC customers.

Wow, what a difference those post from Mark E have made. That's why ultimately we all hold MMC dear to our hearts, despite the sometimes 'challenging' issues. Thanks Mark!
