You have made the right choice. If you are not happy with the car then opt out. A new car should be right.
My first Mog was a 20 yr old car and I was expecting to have "older" tech and all the quirks.
I loved the car - 4/4 with cvh efi.
It was what I expected and a superb learning intro to owning a Morgan and hands on experience at getting it right to my own expectations.
Now have a 2002 Plus8...

If buying a new Morgan I would expect a well established version to be right and not need after sales corrections.
I am reluctant to go down the new car route due to so many adverse experiences with the "newer" versions. There seem to be too many problems due to lack of development and too many poor customer services negatives. The ability to spec up to my own preferences is outweighed.
M3W? ......love one but too many issues to look our for despite Morgan "improvements".
ARP4.......I would NEED a good test drive re driveability at "normal" speeds due to high revs slant on performance , after owning a Plus8 with oodles of low end torque. I don't NEED to drive at high revs.....but do expect basics like a working handbrake .
Plus4 GDI.....how can there STILL be engine running issues?
There seem to be too many basic errors in new versions suggesting a lack of care in development, come on....an iffy handbrake? Ridiculous!
A well sorted by owner second hand car is a good way to go.
