I'm in a similar boat as you Ian....well, not quite the same.
I didn't have the problems that you experienced during your time as a Morgan owner. My 4/4 Sport was a cracking little car and i've missed it ever since I said goodbye to it a year ago.
In a perfect world, I would have kept it, but in reality, I don't think you can have more cars than you have time to use.
I felt that I needed a car that required a little less time and dedication to own and run and one that I could use all year round, had a hassle free and water tight hood, so I could laugh at those damn storm clouds on the horizon, yet still give me a feeling of driving something special....something that had sufficient Britishness about it that somehow felt just right.(...Difficult to explain but bear with me).
I went for a V6 F-Type.....yes...I'm slightly mad, because i'm likely to lose a small fortune on it when I eventually sell it, but recent experiences that have touched my life recently is that life is too short to put too much focus purely on depreciation.
It's not a direct substitute for something like a Morgan, but it certainly feels distinctly British and very special to drive. The more I drive it the more I love it.
I still however, have an antidote for all the extra luxury that sets the Jag apart from the plucky yet pure 4/4 Sport, and that is either of my motorcycles....I can easily get the full rain in my face purity from my bike.
...but one things for sure... I will one day have another Morgan. They are just so special to own and drive, and the camaraderie between Morgan enthusiasts is, I think, even more special and unique among automotive enthusiasts....so long may it continue and I hope I can still share enjoyment in this wonderful group called TM
....I still haven't ruled out the wish to own a M3W, so maybe my future garage will lose the bikes and gain a three wheeler. Could be the best of all worlds. After all, my wife certainly likes the idea of running one during the summer since she decided to give up biking a couple of years ago, but I enjoy my biking far too much to hang up my leathers just yet...if at all.
Decisions, decisions....
....Nope....I've certainly not given up on having and enjoying another Morgan in the not so distant future.
