I have now clocked up a few hundred miles and i am pleased to say no issues at the moment apart from the indicator when turning left doesn't cancel , i have a motolita with boss fitted and wonder if this could be the reason, i have had a couple of close shaves due to other drivers pulling out in front of me at junctions because they think i'm turning !! scared

Another question ,my car has an alarm sensor in corner of the windscreen and on the heater box close to the radio, are these factory fitted because i would like to remove them as i as i don't have any means of enabling them, the wires from both sensors seem to go behind the heater box so i am not sure where they connect or what to ?

Hi Hugo,

Pleased that all is going well. I have a motolita and boss and the inciators do cancel (both directions) but could be better. I suspect that it will be a simple plastic cam on the steering shaft that rubs the indicator stalk and turns it off. I had the same problem on my +8 and by adjust its position it sorted it, just need to take cowl off and possible steering wheel to get to it.

The alarm sensors are not on mine, possibly a previous owner had it fitted. I'd be careful about just cutting the wires to remove them in case it's still active and this disable the car. If you can disconnect them and then remove the sensors, hide them behind the dash and then reconnect that may be best. But it might be best to get a car electrician to take a look.

cheers

Adrian

Thanks for the reply, i took the wheel and boss off and after a bit of "fiddling" i realised that if i rotated the plastic disc that has the cams on, it knocked off the indicator earlier than if in the original position, the horn power socket on the disc needs to be at the top , easy cheap fix..hope they are all like that !!!

Today i removed the coil pack/ spark plug covers as i have ordered some Morgan badges to cover the BMW signs, i found a small amount of oil in each side , is this normal, there is not a lot just a few drops in the corners and the round indents.
This is what happens when its raining, the tinkering starts!!

Do you have any pictures?
Hard to tell exactly where you mean as I haven't had mine apart yet.

Did yours not have the Morgan badges over the BMW? I know most are supposed to but a few slip through the net..

The badges were missing from my car.
I have found out that the oil is due to the valve cover gaskets failing, a common fault apparently on the BMW V8,thank goodness for a warranty, but i don't think it is a difficult job, i have just watched a couple of video's online and it seems quite straightforward.
I will keep you updated.

Glad to hear it's nothing major, and yes always nice to have the warranty to cover it smile.

My morgan badges are missing (either pinched or fallen off) I was told they are NLA, where are you getting yours from?
