As a California resident it was difficult to get a quote. Since I am currently with Allstate (3 everyday driver cars) and JC Taylor (3 collector cars) I didn't think it would be an issue. I talked to various reps from both companies and they were determined to not insure the M3W. Then I talked to two other companies that were not any help.
I called Grundy Worldwide and spoke to an agent who verbally turned me down. Then I discovered their website and applied. The M3W was on the drop down menu, however, it only went to year 2015. I put it down as a 2015 and bingo! received a quote. Called back when the delivery date was more realistic and had them update the year on the website. I think it was a technical glitch.
This is were it got more interesting. After receiving the quote and as I was filling out the application I had a question. So I called an agent. I think it was the same one who I had talked to originally. He said he had to talk to an underwriter and came back a few seconds later and told me they don't insure M3W's. I explained to him that I already had a quote. He refused the service. I went ahead and finished filling out the application (as best I could) and sent it in with my check for $524 for the year. NO problem... Back came the confirmation and the policy in the mail!

M3W makes everyone think out of the box! Not sure how Grundy doesn't know they already insure my M3W for the last three years?
It's the steering wheel on a motorcycle that gets all the insurers questioning weather to insure it.
Great price $524.00 did you have an agreed replacement value?

I might have to pull that through the Grundy site as well. I put down $55,000 as the agreed upon value and got $691 a year with a $500,000 limit and $100 deductible down here in Texas. $671 if I take the deductible up to $500 and $615 if I set the agreed to value as $50,000
But yeah that's put in as a 2015 like Fast Ken did. I'll have to see if the girlfriend's insurance company can handle it. She's with USAA and they have a go to company for classic vehicles.
Maybe the insurance companies have caught on to how much fun everyone is having driving their M3W and they wanna spoil the party.

$45,000. I know that is low but I look at insurance as something to fall back on in a worst case scenario. It is a necessary evil.

State Farm in Southern Ca. $540.00 per year with a $250 deductible. State Farm forked over $25k in late 2014 when we experienced understeer while going thru a roundabout. I am still with them and the rate did not increase.

M3W wasn't in the drop down list for the guy on the phone, so I couldn't get comprehensive. Liability only. Not what I wanted. Does anyone who have Hagerty's know if other drivers are covered? Or is it just me?

Not sure about Hagarty, but for my Grundy policy, other drivers are OK but they have to be 25 or older or they are not covered. So my college-age daughter is not able to drive my Lotus or my MG, or my M3W when it eventually arrives. Sigh...

I set up my oldest daughter, now 29, on the Hagerty policy. At the time, my understanding was that only named individuals on the policy would be covered.
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Hagerty quoted me about $600 a year to insure a 2017 M3W in New York. I do have a bunch of other vehicles already insured with them.
