Thought I would post this here as a bit of fun, if nobody has seen it before this is an Internet Time Machine: https://archive.org/web/
Or should we say an archive of internet pages from the past..

Punch in an old url (ok type - its not that old!) and have a look, its surprising just how much is stored.

For instance old car adverts (think Morgan dealer sites, pistonheads), homepages, photos, news articles you name it..
I've even found old information on a car I bought using it by finding an old sales advert.

Enjoy thumbs

The other "fun one" is Google Earth (not maps) where you can slide through various satellite/aerial images over the years to see how things have developed.

Nick,
A great idea but how precise to you need to be with the request for info? The first three I tried produced nothing.

I put in the url of a site that I owned in 2011 and it came up with the text of several pages but no graphics.

Interesting that this stuff is on record somewhere.

Put in the url of a site I've been associated with since 1995.
Found a page from 2002...full and clear copy. Never thought i'd see that again.
Gosh, how web design has changed!

This should be funded by the nice people at Fort Mead, USA.
