Because they (911's) have no soul?

Apparently the air cooled porsche 911's do have soul but having never driven one i cant comment.
What i can say is that my 997 version is an excellent car but very different to a morgan. It ends up being down to personal choice.

Take a look at current 911 prices. That might serve to make you think again, compared to the Morgan market.
I struggle to make sense of the myriad 911 specs but 'good' ones seem to be in high demand and priced to match.

I was at Tuthill's a few months back. Suggest you arrange to visit - it will be 'kill or cure' with respect to your deliberations.

Many years a ago I had a light bronze 1983 911SC (no whale tail). A great car and fun to drive, only 225bhp but felt like it went like a rocket (maybe everything else back then was slow, unless a Ferrari). I did go in several 70's 911's but found the SC a bit more forgiving and a little more refined, also my favourite in styling. Later I owned one of the first 911 Carrera 4's 1990, I think. A fantastic car, and still looked good. I have lusted after another 911 for many years but swmbo has put the brakes on due to running costs, but having said that get a good one and regularly service it and they are pretty indestructible. But be warned the grin factor can be great and so you may be tempted to use much more than intended originally. I did 15k in the SC in 18 months and 20k in the Carrera 4 in 2 years.

Deano can tell you about the 911 factor. smile
