Just a few miles in glorious sunshine to renew my Neighbours of Duxford (IWM) membership. That takes me over 6500 miles this year.

drove to Swansea Airport for a flight in a helicopter. Awesome. The controls are extremely sensitive and took a bit of getting used to. Loved it. We did a circuit of Gower and a low pass over the salt marshes near Penclawdd, zig zagging low to follow a creek. The horses grazing there didn’t flinch as we passed overhead. Compared to a plane it allowed more freedom to roam but you need to manage the controls much more. If I had the £££££ I’d have both....plane and helicopter. We then went for a luch at the King Arthur Hotel in Reynoldston near Oxwich. Nice. The was a funeral taking place there. We thought it was a wake until we saw the hearse with coffin leave the rear carpark. There are some “different” customs on Gower!

Relatively short drive in the glorious sunshine, roof off, no sidescreens to meet new TMer KennethM for coffee and buns at the Greendale Farm Shop. I also saw what could have been a Roadster 100, (certainly a similar colour) on the Exeter - Sidmouth road. it was travelling roof up in the opposite direction. Anyone on here?

drove to Swansea Airport for a flight in a helicopter. Awesome. Fantastic..! We treated my eldest to an hours tuition last year and he dreaded it when he knew. On the day he had a ball. Said it was the best fun and as it was his first hour towards any future licence, the instructor ran him through some initial flight exercises from going up as high as he could to hovering stationary inches off the ground. He said as he was hovering and concentrating hard with the controls he glanced across to his instructor to see him texting his girlfriend..! Glad you enjoyed it. I think it's a must do when the big win comes in..!

Two old 4/4s and a `54 Plus 4 (twin spare) took advantage of superb autumn weather to slip off into the countryside for a run on roads that follow the earth's contours and draw curving lines through the colours. It's "wildwochen" in all of the country taverns so we lunched on venison and washed it down with very small beers. The drive was the intoxication.
