Jaguar XE SV Project 8, created by the Special Vehicle Operations Division, has broken the class record at the Nürburgring Circuit.

Another video on what is probably more familiar ground for many of us.

Thanks for sharing those - very impressive and I imagine it will encourage a few sales along the way.

Döttinger Höhe (the long straight at the end of the lap) 181 mph shortly behind the bridge when it goes downwards is not too bad.

I have wondered for a while how big that engine is compared to the Ford V8.....

Well the Nurburgring lap was indeed very impressive.

Did you notice how little drama there was? No lurid drifts around the corners, no opposite lock , only very minor steering corrections, the only thing that perhaps betrayed how fast he wanted to go was how much of the curbs he took.

He also managed to lift off in time for the Flugplatz, and the engine revs hardly climbed at all.

That is one seriously quick motor car! (and a driver who knows both the car and the circuit very well.

Mine is a much tamer version with only 180 hp but I was amused to see that in the hot factory version it still has the same dash, steering wheel, infotainment system, etc. as mine.

Here it is on the Jaguar site.

I thought it was the Ford V8 with different cylinder heads. About to be replaced by a straight 6 of Jaguars own make apparently - I like Jags but would have a bit more confidence in a Ford based engine. I remember the K series scared

Which is the V8 version? I could only find the 380 bhp V6 on the Jag website - the XE S
