Lovely run out in the sunshine to Buckfastleigh and return a nice 60 mile round trip. One Red MGB seen and a Green one with rubber bumpers both topless and waving.

Well I had to check the greasing on the King pins out that I did this morning.

Thanks for posting
That must be the first 50th green Plus 8, the one that was in the photos
Interesting that the number 8 looks to be on the radiator and not on a mesh grille as the blue Geneva one

Nice photo Craig. Is it just me, or is the rear wheel face set inboard of the wing, whereas the front wheel is set out from the wing?

Not today but we had to go across the river to Torquay in the tin top for shopping, on the way over there was a beautiful John Steed Bentley coming off - herself sitting in the back and her man driving.
On the return journey there was an Austin A40, Frogeye Spite and a military green early Plus 8 in convoy so some group must have been having an outing of sorts.

Yes I noticed the front wheels being set out from the wheel arches, but now you mention it, it also looks like the rear are set in

If you look at JB62's picture they don't though (a bit of steering lock on in this picture).

Yes, JB62's car does look different - but that is the salient point, it is a different car. We all know how no two Morgans are the same (or necessarily symmetrical!) and even on the 'Aero' +8 the Superform wings are cut by hand and mounted by eye, possibly varying by wheel fitment (this is certainly the case for the trads and I got to mark up how my wings were done because my 4/4 has non-standard wheels).

Bob's Plus 8 looks very similar to JB's in this respect - they seem to have the rear wheel location within the arch nailed, at least for the moment.

Stewart, having seen this car today the 8 is on the mesh grill but well over to the left & low down so the 8 is partially obscured. Not great for a six figure car...... (& yes it is car 1).
