Believe it or not there is a connection. It was on BBC Radio 4 'Profile' yesterday which is repeated at 19h40 this evening or you can listen again at https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000240jQuentin

I wonder, do MMC offer a "Vegan" trim option, I.e. no leather, but synthetic leather?
BMW and Mercedes do.

Well I never! Sounds like a good chap.
The vegan sausage roll has been a smash hit in Stroud, apparently they sell out very quickly.
Personally I daren't go into Greggs, I'd put on a kilo with each visit.

BMW and Mercedes do. Vinyl/Ambla, you mean? It always used to be standard with leather as an option so I daresay they could do it again. I've never understood why Alcantara isn't more popular. The advantages of leather (looks, feel, non-sticky in hot weather) plus the advantages of vinyl (Incredibly durable, easy to care for, very tough), plus a couple more (feel, grip) that the others can't match.

When restoring the interior of my 1950 Auster I discovered that Vynide was the material used, a non-leather but leather appearing type fabric produced by ICI. Triumphs of the same era also used it as did most British aircraft. A few years ago it could still be sourced and is very strong and hard wearing but does not stretch like vinyl. Looks right.

I have been watching Dirty Vegan on tv. The presenter is Mat Pritchard of Dirty Sanchez fame (infamy). He goes round cooking vegan food in various places and the results amaze the people eating his food. I watched the latest episode last night...just before going out for a steak. Mind you it is tempting to try some vegan food. You never know. It could provide another option to add to my likes. Never ignore until you try is my motto for food. Bush Tucker Trial.....whynot?

I would urge you to do so. We eat a lot of vegetarian and vegan food and I have to say I feel a great deal better on a low-meat diet. The last time I ate any meat was on Christmas day when we had bacon sandwiches for breakfast. I'm not against meat eating at all, I feel that if the animals have decent standards of care and are slaughtered responsibly (not halal/kosher) there's no problem and for a lot of areas like Welsh upland farms it's the only sensible route. But having said that I'm finding that I simply don't fancy eating it much any more. Put a plate of black pudding and haggis in front of me and it might be a different matter though

I used to suffer from gout. I researched food types to reduce purine intake ( it causes uric acid that crystallises in joints and causes the excrutiating pain.) My diet was therefore modified to reduced high purine foods to lower ones. Morello cherry juice was thought to help so was added and also seemed to work . I do eat a lot of non meat foods too but do treat myself to the “nasty for gout” ones occasionally as they were high on my yummy list. I once went on the Fplan diet and it was great (windy but great!)

I am happy for people to eat whatever they believe makes them healthy.
I get cross when those who share a particular food belief get all evangelical about it and try to convince me, often with arguments for which there is not a shred of validated scientific evidence, that they are right and I'm wrong.
If anyone is even vaguely interested I'm mostly a Mediterranean omnivore: meat makes up about 15% of our diet. But there are times when we don't eat meat for a week of so, and others where we eat meat every day.

I agree with Peter. What really p****s me off are these veggies and vegans who bleat out in restaurants for all to hear. Just throw a sprout at them!
