Hi there,
I am probably not alone when I say that owning a Morgan makes me feel more 'British'. I put on my rose tinted spectacles and drive along, enjoying whats left of the great British countryside with a warm feeling of pride and nostalgia.
The charming simplicity of my 4/4 reflecting back to a time when life was more straight forward, machines were more simple to work on at home. Things lasted because they could be repaired rather than thrown away. Roads and road signage were less complicated...etc...etc... oldgit

But what exactly does British mean ? idea

Well now I have found the answer to my question....I thought you might enjoy this explanation too:

LOL, when I saw the topic, I knew I had seens a great video on youtube to that effect. Turns out it was the exact same as yours.

But anyway, British to me is sort of taken from the the idea of British Campaign Furniture: Any idiot can rough it, but the British were comfortable. They took a piece of England with them where ever they went back then. I sort of like that, even if it is colonial thinking.

Yes AQM you are quite right, but don't forget that 'they' could also take a piece of Scotland, Wales or even Northern Ireland with them !...let's get this right...right ? laugh2

I couldn't tell you what typical British values were any more. We are served constant reminders that we are actually European whether we like it or not, our flag is a symbol of right-wing extremism and the nation's favourite food is curry.

Alas, the British way is to grumble a bit and carry on regardless.

Thanks so much for posting this. As an expat in the goddam colony known as California it is very timely for me.....my (USA-born) daughter will soon turn 18 at which point she will have the option (according to the grubby little piece of paper given to me in 1994) to assume dual UK(GB)/USA citizenship.
I'm guessing she will, like, be totally awesome at this. For real!

That may be true in a political sense but we should still be proud of our heritage and aspire to keep our 'Britishness' intact where ever we can...right?, o.k. that's me for the day.....i'm off in the Morgan for some fish & chips ! uk

The Union uk is much stronger than independant components, but people hang onto wrongs perpetrated generations ago.
Hence the mess all round the world, and there's no cure for that.
Politicians (and Dictators) have a lot to answer for over the ages.
