Great write up. I did exactly the same with my 2011 4/4 about a year ago using this process with no problem - but I will buy one of those fitting tools for next time.

Great little video, thanks for posting.

This should go on Morganatica as well for future users

Is there a partnumber for single clips. Maybe they tend to fly? thinking

Perhaps we should start an alternative partlist -I know "They all do it - but all are different"...

They are the same as on a classic Mini, only cost about 50p and easier to find than official (overpriced) Mog ones
Mini part nr 17H 7949

Neat little tool and easier than I used to fit them, get the apprentice to pry bar the wheel cylinder against backplate and tap clip on with a socket. Only comment is are they all the same thread for the pipe union? They were all Imperial back in the day but some later wheel cylinders went to metric thread, don’t think it would affect these old school cylinders though. Nicely thought out tool.

The Mini club tool includes a tapered section to lead the circlip onto the boss. , at the beginning the gap between tool and tapered section is at its largest. I had the problem of the circlip digging into the tapered section and trying to fold up into the tool. I managed to push the circlip half way down the taper, so the gap was smaller, and then all went well. In retrospect I thought that some lubricant on the tapered section may have prevented that happening. I do now have the 'MG club' version but haven't had to use it yet.

My MG Club version did the same - bent over one of the "arms" of the E. So it takes a bit of care to watch that this is not happening.
