I agree with those here about not applying self interested interpretations to justify driving. The whole idea is to limit spread. Having seen the dumb response by so many about gatherings, creating summertime picnic and beach congregations DESPITE the good advice how do we think people will respond to see others out? There will be a time when boredom induces these people to start flouting guidance again. Reports of slowing down of cases, deaths, will make them think it is ok. That is the thought pattern too many adopt. It will be interesting to see how people movement will be managed as time goes on. China appear to be relaxing internal movement after many weeks but stopping influx from outside China. Trumps comments about beating Covid and a quick return to normality are perfect for the idiots who don’t like the advice on isolation. There is a danger of secondary spread before vaccines are available. I am surprised at the attitudes of some here in TM.

I suspect we will see that international travel will require you to have been vaccinated & the old yellow books will make a comeback.

We are busy planning some Autumn holiday tour when all of this is behind us, the worst of it hopefully as nobody knows at present but it's always good to have a plan up your sleeve to look forward to. I suspect when a pinch of normality returns, many people will not be too keen on a vacation abroad and the UK roads will be rammed with holidaymakers & daytrippers

Maybe they'll head down here leaving it a bot freer for us up north

Maybe they'll head down here leaving it a bot freer for us up north I've got my fingers crossed for an autumn driving holiday Yes we too, its all booked on the Santander ferry in September and so far both Brittany Ferries and the Hotels are not cancelling or offering refunds. Brittany Ferries in particular are still saying that services are not going to be cancelled at this time and so we are also in a Mexican standoff about a May crossing. We definitely wont travel in May and so will have to accept the cost if BF don’t cough up. I imagine there are few environments that Covid 19 likes better than a cruise ship, airliner, train or overnight ferry and so it is ridiculous that they are maintaining the delusion of normal operations. On this note. British Airways have cancelled our flight to Majorca on late May but have not cancelled the return leg one week later, is this flagrant profiteering? Also the agency in Majorca through whom we booked a small villa, are not responding to requests for a refund even though we are within the period of cancellation and in any event caught up in a worldwide epidemic. I’m guessing that we are their cash flow and they are not giving it up. All in all, we may suffer £1500 in unused travel costs this year, it is our year of retirement and with my pension plummeting it is rather annoying on many levels.

That reminds me Paul, on the way back from my forbidden dog walk in the Aero, I passed a girl on a horse so I slowed down to reduce the noise as I passed her.
But is horse riding allowed as exercise? Or is it a forbidden form of an equine spin?
You can't go to Tesco's on an horse - or can you? Riding a horse on the public roads is permitted as part of your hours exercise, but you shouldn't be actually going anywhere. Riding the horse on your own land isn't restricted in any way. BUT care is needed, I wouldn't want to be in a hospital casualty department at the moment. Driving to the stables where your horse is kept to do all that is needed to care for the horse is a permitted use of a car, as is going to buy essential feed and materials for the horse. Riding to Tesco? An interesting idea, but probably not welcome.

We have had a full refund from Silverseas for our May/June cruise from Guam to Japan. They arranged our flights via Korea to visit son at Uni in Seoul.
Awaiting news about British Airways flights to Nashville in August. I expect they will be cancelled.
I’m flying Turkish air from Birmingham to Ulaanbaatar in September. I anticipate those flights being cancelled as well.
Holidays in the garden for this year I guess.
