My Mum had an odd one today - a private school in Belfast contacted her, as they'd apparently had an website enquiry about how to make a donation to the school. They had her email address and her mobile phone number. They were fine when she said she had no clue what they were talking about, and she gave me the number that they'd called on, and i checked, and it matched the number on their website.

Just seemed really wierd!

I think it's quite easy for people to change the caller ID number that is displayed when you receive a call. Some businesses do this so you can call back on an 0800 number:

We've had a spate of this spoofing, callers to our landline insisting they have a missed call from us. Which they haven't! Reported to BT, to get it "on record" but it's all stopped after a couple of weeks.

We only had one stroppy caller who insisted on getting my wife's name, but as he wouldn't give his details he was sadly disappointed!

For fun I googled "The Maureen Hinckley Foundation" and got results going back as far as 2014. The Maureen Hinckley Foundation sure has plenty of funds........

We don't get the calls because Call Guardian stops all that. I just get e mails and text messages, usually about failed parcel deliveries.
