Very good point Dave, I will have to think of an easy secure system.

This is the setup of my carrier.

The knurled knob is slackened to allow it to disengage and swing down, when sidescreens in cover can be cosily slid in. The knob can then be tightened with key for security much as screens themselves can be when attached to doors. Absolutely no interfence with high level brake light.

It was a factory provided extra.

The split pin version. The split pin is just to the right of the Roadster sign

Clever solution that, I have a low level rack to keep the suitcases down & give better rear vision, but you have give up sidescreen storage

But how do you carry the sidescreens when the suitcase is on the rack?

I keep the widescreens behind the seats so this wouldn't apply, but would expect that if one was going on a journey long enough to requires a suitcase, then having the widescreens mounted on the doors would probably be preferred. I find on long trips, especially when motorways are involved, not having widescreens is much more tiring.
