Gordon, pleased you found interest in my ramblings. Great pic from West Loch Tarbert of Jura, thanks for posting. A favoured anchorage on Jura for me was in a cove off Lowlandman Bay. If you are still in the area a in this weather, no better place to be enjoying a Morgan.. love A trip across the water on the ferry from Tarbert to Portavadie marina might be interesting..? Yeah tied up there too but on a friends Nicholson, on which I helped just a bit during a refit when he laid a wooden deck over the original fibreglass one.. The Nic is a superb sail anywhere vessel.

Boat pics a plenty in my locker... smile

Back on the road after Covid restrictions I had a short stop in this Czech city today.
This was my first visit to the central square and it was a positive surprise. Good to see that EU money support gets used for renovations too.

Who knows the town?

It's a small Bohemian town next to Jihlava. As many others this former German city got a new name after WW2.

Havlickuv Brod (former Deutschbrod) is the name of the city.

This small town stands for many similar places that need to be discovered in the Czech Republic. During the years of communism there was little money to disfigure the city centers with new buildings and slowly the old cities shine again with renovated city squares. Top gastronomy is still rare but good home cooking can be found easily and the beer in CZ has always been ok.
Now is the time to visit CZ.
