I had my plus 4 SS out for a longer drive this afternoon, enjoying the last few good autumn afternoons with the hood down etc.

I am finding it difficult to get a good comfortable driving position inside the car, i'm 5' 8" average build.

I have the seat about midway on the runners, my left leg is fully extended when I push the clutch all the way in. The seat back is reclined about as far back as it will go and the steering wheel is adjusted fully up to the dash.

Where do you rest your left leg for comfort with no footrest etc in the cramped footwell. The steering wheel is very close, my arms are still well bent. Perhaps I just have to get used to it.

I'm 6' 2" and have the seat all the way back on my roadster. The issue is then the same, where to put the left foot. I tend to tuck my leg back to the right unless I am in town doing alot of gear chnging when I just have to keep poised over the clutch pedal. Not the most comfortable but you get used to it.

I dont think anyone thought of a left foot rest, when they designed these cars. I find that I can wedge my left foot down at the base of the pedals if my shoes are slim enough.

As for the steering wheel, I think arms bent is the proper position - back in 1936 thats how cars were driven, none of that arms outstretched mularkey

Left foot flat on the floor. Somebody out there has fitted a very slim aluminium L section onto the tunnel, which gives just enough support for the left foot. No more than half an inch wide.

In the 4/4 Sport I think cockpit dimensions are the same - I'm 6ft and have the seat fully rearward,steering fully upward,arms comfortable with abit of slack. The only discomfort for me initially was the left foot, but tuck it under my right leg as in driving an automatic to prevent the windscreen kissing event ! I did this once in an auto Scimitar with my good lady onboard and she kindly offered to drive the rest of the journey home (in silence).

Probably living with it will provide the answers along with the enjoyment

The seats are mounted on metal rails that sit on wooden slats. These can be cut down a bit to get a lower seating position. This might help tall drivers.

You'll get use to it and put it down to part of the Morgan charm! I have no idea why the steering column is height adjustable though......I'm average height 5'9" and have the seat almost right back as I like a fairly upright seat back but apart from dropping the wheel down by about 1/8th of an inch...to stop the plastic shroud creaking against the dash...there is absolutely no way it would go down any further and avoid my legs!

The closeness of the wheel to me and the bent arms was a bit strange at first until I realised that's how it was way back and now I rather like it!

Now if somebody made a nice clutchless sequential gearbox the problem would be resolved
