John,
Librands supplied me a spacer to go between the rack and spare wheel of my Plus Four - the spacer might do the job for you too!

Or fit one of those umbrella storage tubes. Uncle Melvyn sells them.

That's what I did, as I'm not keen on the rear end look with the rack on, but the brackets are a bit of a pain to remove

I used a piece of 16mm solid SS bar, drilled & tapped each end, so you just put a bolt in to hold it in the bracket, looks quite neat

Bit beyond my skill set or tools Jon but I might get some tube and threaded bar to do the same

However, I can't think how to carry the sidescreens without the rack.

Just a thought...Not sure how this panel gets fixed to the car body, but if it is to be regularly removed, hopefully some thought has gone into how to prevent rub marks appearing on the body, as mating surfaces may well flex a bit with general vibration and bumpy roads. Does it come with a circular gasket?

I'd be tempted to remove them John if I didn't plan the need for some time.

That's the advantage of having overriders. The rear carrier for that variant just slots onto the vertical pins of brackets secured to overrider mounts and essentially hidden, allowing speedy removal/replacement of carrier.

Could you get overriders on the brackets?

I have added a neoprene foam round seal & will use washers to lift the panel off the rear where it screws on.

Over riders might have to wait for a big birthday
