With BHM Goodwood track day in mind, does anyone have experience of static noise test values for a 5 speeder fitted with G56 stage 1 intake and exhaust? What is the throttle/revs setting used for testing. Also, I have a Bell open face helmet. Can I use that?

My own M3W passed at Snetterton with MMC stage 1 pipes (which are noisier). I had to explain to staff that the 5000rpm demanded was too close to the rev limiter though They were happy with my open face helmet but this was a local residents freeby track session.

The noise checks at Goodwood are quite strict, and I have seen a couple of MTWs rejected and unable to participate.
Last time (2021?) one MTW was running with additional "cans" on the end of the pipes, I think he mentioned they were originally designed for a TVR?
I may be wrong but I think they ask drivers to rev to 75% of max revs. However they do not seem to check this on the rev counter and take your word for it.
I am sure some of those at last years event will be along soon to give you a more definitive answer.

I have to say that in recent years, one of the scrutineers has been looking over my shoulder at the rev counter and I think they are aware of the revs required by the type of engine and its rev range.

Looking to do this track day myself. beleive full face helmets are required for this track day, a requirement by Goodwood I was told. BHM are offering helmets on the paperwork they emailed to me, maybe you can book one of those? Also looking to get a set of extra cans for my car as I think my car is noisy and so liklely to fail the noise test. Previous experience at Goodwood says they are balck and white about noise levels. And they always seemed to be looking over my shoulder when testing in the past. Their scrutineers do build up a knowledge of vaious cars and the noise they make.

To follow up on my initial queries, I spoke to Sarah at BHM, she advised that, yes, it would be ok to use my own open face helmet. The noise limit for the track day at Goodwood is set at 98dB. She advised that i would be able to go there to have my G56 noise value tested before the day, which would then give me the opportunity to pull out with a full refund. - (It would also allow me some time to fit some kind of extra muffler if required).
I spoke to Chris at G56 he advised me of the following test results from when they were developing the Stage 1 system.
Std @ 1100rpm : 79db Std @ 3700rpm : 95db G56 @ 1100rpm : 78db G56@ 3700rpm : 98db
He also made it very clear that their results may differ markedly from any testing done at Goodwood, it all coming down to conditions on the day - the equipment and procedure used to do the tests. It will be noted that their top end value of 98dB is right on the Goodwood limit. It’s handy that I live a mere 18 miles from the circuit so ……
I contacted Sarah at Goodwood, she advised me that provided I turn up to a TRACK day prior to the Morgan day (no need for an appointment), i will be able to get one of the scrutinisers to do a noise test for me. I would imagine that in the end to guarantee track time I will probably have to source and fit an attenuating tail pipe muffler of some kind, preferably without the need to drill holes etc. If anyone has any info based on their own experiences I would be interested to know. The id. of the tail pipe is about 58mm.
I will continue this thread in due course as and when any pertinent information arises.

I’ve worn an open face at Goodwood before without any issues. I’m interested in this topic too as I also have the G56 stage one installed however I must admit I’m not sure I’d be that confident taking it round Goodwood at track speeds. I worried about simply taking it down there for the revival 😀

Apparently having talked to Sarah at BHM and filled out the form, you state your driving ability from novice to expert - I’m the former, and instructors will be available to drive you round in your own car and then accompany you with them in the passenger seat before letting you loose!
