I have mounted my tax disc in a motorcycle tax disc holder fixed onto one of the nearside windscreen frame mounting bolts.
The windscreen is so small, I think the disc obscures too much of it and it's also likely to be stolen off the screen if the car is left unattended.
Is this what most owners do?

Me too. Mine has eight tiny hex-headed bolts, all but one of which has too be removed to separate the front from the back. Most years changing the tax disc is the largest job I have to perform.

Reminds me, I must put the new disc on Yes, mine is mounted in a m/c holder lower nearside screen mounting too. In its windsecreen slot is a supporter sticker for Midland Air Ambulance (and above that BOC annual membership sticker) - don't often try to look through that side of the screen. Cheers,

Mine has eight tiny hex-headed bolts, like most owners it is mounted by the bolt that holds the windscreen.

After spending ages with new screws and silicone on the Richbrook holder, I'm swapping to a stick on type next year. These spoil the disc if you attempt to steal them. I notice the MG Club has their own version with logo.

Having an "easy-up" hood (thus hidden windscreen pillar bolts) I use Morgan's own rather neat stick on aluminium holder. This is in two sections, one of which is stuck to the screen, then has an engraved cover attached by tiny c/s allen screws.

I've moved over to motorcycle type holder as I'm planning to use the car with aeroscreens next year.

I previously did the same as you with the disc on the ouside of the car in the motorcycle holder, this looks very period and just right. Unfortunately the bolts are different on my current car so this can't be copied. Theft is a concern, but have no other option at the moment.
