Congrats K, great job. One of life`s simple pleasures is that first drive on the road after a restoration ... Lot`s more enjoyment to come... Yes! ... indeed I have! ..... after an annoying delay due to being supplied some seat belts that weren't as advertised I fitted the replacements today and took her out for a shakedown spin round the local lanes .... aeroscreens and Mk4 goggles ... what a hoot to drive at 60 mph .... nothing fell off and got home under her own steam, so I declare that a success! .... temp gauge reading slightly high but steady as a rock .... checked with my laser/IR thermometer when I got back and block sitting at 83° and upper rad tank at 70° so, as I suspected, it's the gauge over-reading ... can sort that at my leisure. Pic taken on her safe return. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/06/29/20220628_150902.jpg) Will let her stretch her legs a bit more over the next few days 🙂 K

Good news on the pass Craig, I'm always a bit apprehensive about the emissions on mine.
I see the garage you use has the same ramp with hydraulic plates to test front suspension wear. What milage is on your car and is there any top/bottom movement due to kingpin wear?
Curious because I get wear noted on the offside every year yet it never seems to get any worse. It's also noted on some of the certificates from before I purchased the car. I suspect a lack of greasing from previous owners but could be wrong Hi Gordon My mileage is 11,600 ish, the tester said there was no top/bottom movement to kingpin so all good. In fact he said the car was perfect in everyway, then again I would say that wouldn't I

I can finally answer “yes I did” to the basic question in this thread. I took a 90-mile drive through the Virginia countryside to the 50th anniversary of the MCCDC Morgan Owner’s Gathering. I would venture a guess that there were between 40 and 50 cars on the lawn. I saw friends of my parents that I haven’t seen in over 40 years. Lots of memories, and a good time had by all. There is a rally this afternoon and an autocross tomorrow. I’ll post some pictures if I can sort out the process from my phone.

Here are a couple of photos from MOG 50 in Luray, VA. I had never heard of Devlin, but the care and craftsmanship that went into this was something to behold ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/07/03/27F6552C-4FA6-44A5-8F21-40C082FA05D2.jpg) This amused me because of the 1940 Ford that popped in for a cuppa. Lots of care and labor in that car as well ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/07/03/9F47EB99-B234-4629-AAA0-4A04ED6B70B2.jpg)

I posted this a while ago after spotting the build on the web ... I wonder if it's the same car now finished?? ... pretty thing (I'll add your pic to our 'Morgan Specials' thread if that's ok.) http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/631361/1K

I finally renewed king pins at 39k following MOT advisory:
