At the risk of upsetting some regular readers it is this lack of attention to detail that I find so annoying about Morgan. I have an inaccurate and misleading handbook, a dealer who doesn't appear to know how the cams are driven on my engine, a 75th Anniversary brochure with torque and horsepower figures mixed up and yesterday I had occasion to open the Sport's fusebox holder to find that it contained a card giving the location of fuses for a +4 which is totally different to the Sport. The Sport fuse location diagram should be on the underside of the lid and, of course, it wasn't.
Morgan need to do MUCH better in my opinion.

welcome to Morgan ownership, you'll get used to it, maybe even like it in the end.

All this seems very similar to my whole Morgan experience to date, I don't think that I'm going to ever going to get used to it or like it.

Yes you only have to listen to it with the aid of a lump of metal bar rested on it's cover (to transmit the sound to the ear) to tell what it is on most cars.

I'll certainly be changing mine every 40,000 miles with or without fibreglass.

2009 4/4 Sport 15,000 so it won't be long as I have a busy travelling year ahead.

Enjoy your New Year cooler miles, it's just perfect on dartmoor these days. love

It hasn't put me off my Morgan...I'm lucky in buying an ex MMC hire car that it has been regularly fettled before I got it....but sloppy workmanship and incorrect details in handbooks and adverts get me annoyed. There really is no excuse for it.

A friend of mine who bought his car a couple of weeks before me direct from the factory is perhaps not quite as tolerant as me as he is having issues with his warranty which is not being handled as well as it should by the factory and it wouldn't surprise me if he walked away from the car. A great shame as he was so enthusiastic and saw it as a stepping stone to an Aero or the new Plus8. I very much doubt he'd even consider that now.

Incorrect handbook? hahahaha my car has a blacktop zetec powerplant and the handbook thinks it's a CVH, two generations earlier! Finding a specific fuse is an adventure and part of the fun!

And why would you expect a dealer (for any vehicle, let alone a Morgan) to know anything?

But I much prefer my 4/4 over any other car I have owned...and it's the only one that hasn't depreciated...and the only one (currently) that I can fix (some things) myself...

The latest handbook also states the weight of my 4/4 sport as 1000kg with basic tools and petrol.
Strangely the same figure is used for the +4, roadster, and the 4 seaters. frown
Sales brochure states 795kg!

Still love it of course, but a little more effort from MMC would make people a lot happier with them. wink

A part of my career was writing software instruction manuals for users and it made me a stickler for getting the detail right! I've been away from that for a long time now but I can't shake off the need for accurate information!!

With such a small product range that Morgan has, it should be so easy to make sure the handbooks are correct and most certainly the sales information!

BUT.......I still love my little green Sport and possibly more so than when I first bought it.

I know what you're driving at Jay. The Egyptair Airbus A330 we flew to Cairo in last November was excellent in every way. Then the safety video showed a diagram for a Boeing, & all of a sudden I'm thinking about how attention to detail is something I particularly value on something like an aeroplane....
