Oh I'm really sorry about this Alistair. LIfe has a way sometimes of screwing with us. Whatever you have to deal with, I do hope things are resolved for you soon..

p.s. I am glad someone removed that vile negative post from earlier in the day from Ken. For reference, I have not removed any posts from this thread or from any other thread - in fact, the last post that I can recall having to remove was 2021 and I only know that because it is in my holding area. Furthermore, no one has flagged up an issue with a post on this thread.

Unfortunately everything has it's day, here's hoping everything goes well with the sales. Never an easy decision, but when its time to move on. best done quickly but not hopefully in haste.

No one needs a Morgan, people just 'want' one.
For whatever reason, a reason that to them, is absolutely justifiable and valid.
I'm always amazed by the number of mega low mileage cars that keep coming up, often 20 odd year old +8's, but if it gives someone joy to own it, even if they only drive it to the MOT center every year, then who are we to judge.....🤷🏻♂️
A Morgan can certainly elicit a huge number of emotions both good and bad in an owner. Some folk just have a higher tolerance to hassle than others......
It's a bit like camping, on the one day that it's lovely weather or the day you wake up to a stunning dawn after a great night's sleep, camping is fantastic....... all the rest of the time it is total and absolute misery and deprivation.....BUT if you speak to a hardcore camper they'll not see any bad in camping whatsoever.................😆
That's why TM is not the place to seek an unbiased opinion on Morgan ownership............deep down we all know the cars are, at best average..... it's just comes down to how firmly fixed the rose tinted spectacles are........
I remember speaking to a well known 'legacy dealer' at the time of the CX rad problems. Every day he was receiving numerous phone calls from owners wanting to sell. Obviously he couldn't buy them as there was no market at all and it would have crashed the price totally....BUT..... those CX owners are probably worth speaking to, not beardy weirdy old trad owners.......

Alistair, so sorry to hear this. These cars worm their way into our hearts and it must be tough to have to say goodbye. I hope you get it all settled and you get on top of any troubles quickly.
Best wishes

"ownership............deep down we all know the cars are, at best average..... it's" say you Julian...
I don't agree at all. I don't think the word "average" can be applied to my Morgan. What's average about a Morgan? Nick

Some of the materials and methods used in their construction is below average eg rear springs that sag in no time, PCB's that are very exposed to water damage, plastic radiators that crack, the list is pretty extensive for 4 wheelers , move across ti the 3 wheel variety and the list is enormous. That is not what I would consider a positive attribute of being hand crafted vehicle. Its penny pinching and under development at its worst.
But that's not the sole reserve of Morgan, other manufacturers get it wrong and hence vehicle recalls seem to have increased more in recent times. What is more worrying is the level on ongoing factory support with spares especially as we are seeing more annual changes to the specifications, which will led to more short runs of eg trim, etc. which may effect ownership of certain models more difficult going forward eg Aero, there seem to be quite a few for sale a the moment.
The styling of a Morgan still holds up amazingly well and without question it sets it apart from the main stream of the more prestigious brands. I love the cars just dislike the levels of maintenance required especially as I grow older and find garage floors easier to get down to than get up from..

It seems to me that Morgan are now drilling down into more and more factory only supply of parts. They did it with the heated windscreens for Trads. Now we see most if not all of the lights on the CX being specific. The larger round headlights on the P Four will certainly be factory/maybe dealer only.
They penny pinched with detail on the long door Trads, but maybe survival of the company was the payback. But the core product is what you get with a craftsman build, and that woodworking and metalworking is high quality in the context of the when, where, who and how they were built. Superform was certainly not penny pinching, but probably saved costs overall.
The plastic radiators, the exposed underdash design, the door mirrors, all could have been quality items at minimal cost. But Morgan survived. I won't comment on the M3W.
