Well. looks like the website is redirecting somewhere malicious, which implies the Ace project is over.

Yes, It’s occasionally made clear that despite the germination that Pete’s original Harley ACE brought to those here, by inspiring Charles Morgan to return to 3-wheelers, some would prefer a feedback-loop-monoculture here. Others have also previously voiced their appreciation for this related content.

Perhaps full circle then, that the last Liberty Motors ACE f-6 article featured Andrew English, https://www.avants.com/magazine/pete-larsen-liberty-motors-ace a pivotal figure in this 3-wheeler re-birth. It was Andrew that authored the original Harley ACE story in The Telegraph that brought Charles Morgan to Seattle in 2009, where ACE to Morgan 3-wheeler history was made.

As the saying goes, all good things to come to an end, and ACE production is in fact over… Pete originally had six frames, suspension components, etc. built to his specs for the f-6, and after those were completed, the reality of the manufacturing landscape changes during early 2020s became apparent, with previous suppliers either no longer interested in the custom work or now cost prohibitive; Pete decided to set out on a new project; and this time it would be just for him.

Pete, being no longer encumbered by the litany of regulations involved with building a four wheeled car that is intended to be sold to customers (you can build anything you want here if it’s legally a ‘motorcycle’) Pete found a vintage unfinished Bizzarini body, pulled out a clean sheet of paper, added a wheel in each corner, and an LS6 up front backed by a 6-speed manual transmission.

It has been a real privilege for me to witness firsthand Pete’s process and progress, from drawings, to a mocked-up frame in PVC tubing, full CAD renderings, cut and bent raw frame tubes, artist quality ‘stack of dimes’ TIG welding, and now assembly.

I was brought here after buying my own M3W https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2013-morgan-3-wheeler-5/, and this forum put me in the right place at the right time to get my first Harley ACE #10 https://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthrea...e-prototype-for-sale-hemmings#Post550772 and I will always appreciate that! I have also said that first owning an M3W facilitated everything that has followed. I’ve since been in the right place at the right time to get my second Harley ACE #13, ACE f-6 #1, and most recently ACE f-6 #2.

ACE f-6 #2 was thoroughly enjoyed with the original owner, who added 13k+ miles in a couple years and had some epic road trips; after racking up 34k miles on an M3W that was sold here, https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2014-morgan-3-wheeler-10/ . Sadly, he passed away recently and I’ve been restoring and reversing some clumsy modifications that were made during his adventures.

So yes, although Pete is not going to build any more ACEs, ACE f-6 #2 may be coming up for sale… if I decide to go through with purchasing a Ginetta G12 when it gets to Seattle from Japan… PM me if you’re interested (before I’m canceled). flag

3G we would be most interested to read and see your Ginetta in the non Morgan section, good luck with the shipping.

We are mostly total petrol nuts and like anything that hints at speed or taste so explore some other threads sometime😎

Would be interesting to hear what these mods were and the motivation for their development (and what makes them clumsy). 13K miles is pretty impressive...

Yes, his trips were VERY impressive, my favorite pic was of him in #2 across from a Bison in Yellowstone! He is an inspiration to live life for the moments that take your breath away, and not just live for the number of breaths you take,
[Linked Image]

Some of the mods…

The ugliest IMO was bolting more plexiglass to windscreens by drilling through the originals, the old bases were brush painted silver with some clear silicone too = new windscreen bases have been made and I’m very close to getting new screens back from the plastic drape molder (expensive and taking forever)
[Linked Image]

He also bolted extra plexi to his M3W, although that seems a bit more carefully done; not sure why he didn’t just do it right and get the proper part?
[Linked Image]

Drivers side 4-point harness, that was attached at the shoulders with one sheet metal screw on each side behind the seat?!? though the bases were structurally bolted = new original drivers belt installed.
[Linked Image]

Exhaust mufflers cut with a hacksaw to add some stainless tips (quieter?) = New original mufflers bought and installed.

In the pic above you can see the exhaust tips, a license plate frame with a flashing red brake light (I understand the safety of these but still hate them), and a ‘rear view mirror’ (also seen in the first pic) mounted by drilling a random hole through the dash. Also randomly drilled into the dash were some additional reverse system LEDs indicator lights = new metal dash powder coated crinkle black. (used a laser level to reinstall everything)

Mounting a TomTom navigation with a fist full of zip ties = straight to the bin.

I'm glad that I got #2 and have been able to give her some deserved love, I’ve also had #2 paint corrected, polished, and ceramic coated, just in case I go through with selling.

Many thanks for the detail. Ouch on some of these (esp the harness!). I can see the rationale for his screen mods if touring - the M3W factory / Fairbourne screens still leave a gap for your elbow to get cold. Then again, "whatever works" and if the original owner got some extra life fulfillment in his final years, good for him! Good luck with the restoration and sale. Would be great if this was bought in the UK to add even more diversity to the 3 wheeler community here [aka please let us know when its for sale!!!]

I had the pleasure of driving the white Ace F6 owned by 3Gs for several months. My backstory is I owned a 2013 M3W that was about a Stage 1.5 car with a lot of upgrades and extras. And I currently own Ace #10. The F6 cars are on another level. The Honda flat-six paired with the sequential gearbox is quick. Think Sportbike quick. And endless torque. The M3Ws are no slouch, the HD-powered Aces are faster, and the Ace F6 will run and hide from both of them. Period. In the twisties or on a straightaway. They are THAT fast. And the straight-pipe exhaust had many legit car guys thinking the car had a V8. The best driving reference I can think of would be an early analog Porsche 911. But then lose about 1000 pounds in the 911. The F6 is an extremely fun car and it is like nothing else on the road. The experience of sitting between the front wheels, with the engine intake behind your right ear, and the straight pipes just a few feet behind you, is just fantastic.

well here we are. When Pete came out with his 3 wheeler I was intrigued. I knew his side cars as first rate. When it finally was possible, alas, they were no more and so I settled for the Morgan (after all, my wife had the last plus 8 shipped to the states). 20,00o miles late I have an engine that burns through a quart if oil every 200 miles, and it appears parts are made of onubtanium. I have a 1978 goldwing with 140k miles and it DOES NOT use oil.

I have a 2013 car, stage 2, driven very hard and mine doesn't use any oil....

Parts are available - just depends on what your prepared to pay for them.

ACE f-6 #2 will likely be going up for auction on Bring a Trailer soon, if you're interested, and want to avoid that experience, send me a private message. Considering that the last ACE f-6's build was ~$80k USD and my expectations are quire reasonable drive
