Yes, the buffeting with a hard top fitted with the side screens off is unbearable at any sort of normal speed. You get totally battered. Morgan already had this sorted before. The Aero GT has the lip in the rear of the hard top, which houses the vents. On the inside of the hardtop, there are vents to allow the air to flow through and out of the rear ports. Thus minimising buffering because they allow the pressure to dissipate out of the cabin. These hardtops are water tight and easy to take on and off. ![[Linked Image]](https://images.pistonheads.com/nimg/44686/2.jpg) Am I wrong in thinking that some of the trad Clubsports had hard tops that had side vents in them? I may be imagining seeing them on a Roadster or Plus 4!

My 80 year old dad been staying a few days, fit and well he is, and zero tolerance. His motto is zero f**ks given. I look at him, and he is becoming more eccentric every year. Anyway Morgan’s, he drove me in my Plus 6 today for a brew in Malvern factory, he drove like a complete loon, overtaking every chance he got, 80, 90 on A roads. Pulled into Morgan, called the new Supersport a tarted up Morgan, complained about sour bread toast at Cafe, and was chatting up the two ladies on Morgan reception. He then wheel spins out of factory, with me telling him off. His reply was, I’m trying to give Morgan drivers a bad name, whilst grinning into his white beard. He said my Plus 6 was crap , and reminds him of old crap he used to drive in the 60s. I give him this thread to read, and he said it’s very clique ish, and a lot of nonsense being talked which he has little time for. His synopses was, as a retired defence lawyer from Liverpool, is that people should do and say what they want, when they want, buy what you want , and if your going to publish your thoughts, then you are inviting criticism, comments you won’t like, and inviting an over emotional response from a gang of people you will probably never meet and probably wouldn’t even like if you met them face to face. In his jaded opinion, everyone is full off sh*t, and so is your car, as he jumped in his SL and drives to the pub at British camp, where he has made more friends in 3 days than I have living down here for 30 years!
What’s the point of me posting this drivel. I don’t know. Probably released the frustration of dad. But like my Morgan, my dad brings out the best and worst in me, gives me pleasure, good fun, and is a massive pain in the arse sometimes.🤷♂️ Jono, the way you describe your Dad reminds me of my Uncle, whom I was very close to. Now sadly passed but an ex-Fireman, who turned businessman later in life. Could put a smile on anyone's face, loved to play 'the grump' but was always there when you needed him. The first to tell you what he thought, and often harshly, but the last to leave when anyone needed help. If asked to describe him, I've often used the word "a character" and he was... the world, in my opinion, is far better off with them in it than without. I'd also mirror Stewart's comments, I've shared many a laugh, and adventure, with people I've met via TM. Perhaps that is why I am protective of both the community and those on it because I know that Morgan owners are a rare breed; we can see the great in the imperfect. (ps - I'm sure I drove past a grey Plus Six doing doughnuts in a supermarket car park this evening... furthermore, in the midst of the acrid smoke, that I heard someone yelling to all the youths gathered in their Saxos, Fiestas and Polos "THAT'S how you lay down some rubber!!!")

I've had a few coupe's....... with both front windows down it is very noisy. 🤷🏻♂️ In a 4 door with the front windows down, at least opening the rears a little keeps the noise down and makes it more bearable.
In a supersport with the hardtop on and no side screens it'll be undriveable...... for any distance.......🤷🏻♂️
I hate all the designer waffle as well...... I really wish they'd had the balls to start with a clean piece of paper and do something new though.......... I know Porsche have been redoing the same old design for 61 years, but their design team's coffee budget is probably more than the supersport's development budget.
All these 'new designs' are just rehashing the early work of Matt Humphries.........imho...... his work was pretty revolutionary for any manufacturer.... but for Morgan it was incredible.....!!!
The supersport wouldn't be a Morgan if it wasn't flawed. Design, construction and quality control flaws might be trickier to forgive at £100k+. Good luck to all the new owners, I'm sure they'll have a roller coaster of emotions and the car (and it's recalls) will keep us typing for years to come......... 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
p.s. differences of opinion and healthy robust discussions are all part of TM. We're all fans of the cars and we certainly won't agree all the time......😁

This car was in the glass box outside the showroom after Tuesdays event. Not the most interesting colour but I think it suits the car better than the others I’ve seen. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/03/15/IMG_7615.md.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/03/15/IMG_7616.md.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/03/15/IMG_7617.md.jpeg) Ollie

![[Linked Image]](https://assets.autoweek.nl/m/h89q9izkzaqlbj_1200.jpg) Some of the lines in the new SS I quite like, but if I was fortunate enough to spec one up I'd ask for the front valance in body colour down to the front wing base line and hope the strip of snow shovel left below blended into the shadow & I'd retrofit a bespoke waterfall grille

Those grey letter boxes ? Do they do anything? Front AND back?
My bespoke extras would be to sling the boot lid, add a cut out and spare wheel and a manual box. Not much to ask. Just like two extra pockets on a bespoke suit.

Think they are meant to evoke over riders..
Still can’t get my head round the looks. Maybe it’s because it’s different and been so used to the look of a Morgan it just looks a bit wrong to me. Maybe it’s the lack of grill ,front intake, different door / widescreen, rear end which is a bit like a aero but isn’t. I am not sure, expect it might be more function over design.
Look forward to seeing one in the flesh.

The soft top and a dark silver grey paint job transform the car....................... I almost like it now........almost.....😆
It needs a proper waterfall grille, a Morgan grille. History, tradition, brand recognition.🤷🏻♂️ If it's good enough for Rolls Royce, Bentley, Bugatti, BMW, Mercedes etc etc etc........
The square bits under the spoiler thing are rubbish...... they look like something cheap from Halfords.......
All this secrecy, build up and excitement and they've reinvented the aero 8 with a 6 cylinder engine and a sh!t makeover........
