Following my weekend drama with fractured oil lines, I am keen to delete the oil line and swap to an electrical pressure gauge, there seem to be a few on the market. My car is an 88 cvh, with tudor dials (52mm? - I haven't measured them yet!)

I would appreciate any tips regarding whether one make or another are better in terms of durability, ease of fit etc, plus any pearls regarding the fitting would be appreciated. Would I need to take the whole dash out or can dials be swapped with it in situ? can I use the existing electrical connection to the existing dial?

Get hold of a Holdens c/log or their web site ( plenty of dials to see ) the 4 small are dials are all 52mm on your mog . You dont need the dash out its easy to swap just one dial and yes you can use the same or original electrics .

Cheers John, have you any feelings regarding electrical versus mechanical gauges?

I have a mechanical Pressure oil gauge but just about to fit a new dash with a clock ( I always seen to be in a hurry and have little time + I feel lost with out one ) Also fitting an electric oil temp gauge . But I feel the pressure is more accurate mechanical ( just my thoughts ) and electrics can go wrong , hence my petrol tank cleaned the spade connector and gained 2 gallon . Think I will go and clean it again to see if I can get a full tank.
ps try Holdens web site the owner used to have several mogs

Thanks John,

I looked at the holden site, all their electrical oil gauges are chrome bezeled, so far as I can tell, all my other gauges are black bezeled. I did find ETB, who do some black bezeled gauges.

Sawman. Did you try Europa spares? I swapped all of my Tudor dials except for the ammeter for a purpose built Smiths 3in1. You can see a photo on page 8 of the Morgan photo section.

Sorry cracking up but you can get one or all changed at Speedograph Richfield . Running round like a loon today this bloke has had my bumpers since 1st Feb and trying to give me the run round . Dont think he was expecting my reply to his rude way of dealing with customers .

Wow, thanks for the link Gerry, hadn't come across them yet. I quite like meabh's idea of a multiple gauge, that would give me an option to get a clock on the dash in a spare hole.
