I think the design is very brave and cool. A bit like you know it from science fiction movies. Very interesting from behind. But I wonder how much you get barbecued under the Californian sun with the flat angle of the windscreen. Or half of the battery is used for the AC. Or the windshield is made of future material.
Have you seen the way they drive on the M4 in the morning and park in tescos/aldi these days? If I was permitted to use a Panzer it would sustain less damage. I will swear they all learnt through watching MrMagoo on youtube on a 4"smartphone using 3G.
The Tesla truck should fail all pedestrian safety requirements for the Euro NCAP testing to many hard angles and surfaces, getting hit by one of those at chest height and then being dragged under it would ruin your day.
No doubt every footballer will have one as the next must have!

Thats why I think the vehicle they have shown was a complete stunt, as was the bit about armoured glass. I did cynically wonder if he was playing with the share price as it dropped massively following the launch where as I suspect there would have been speculators betting on it going up following the launch. Elon Musk seems to have frequent issues with short term speculators who will have lost out as a result of the share price drop, where as he will recover the share price for long term investors (who he does like) when he presents the real vehicle.
It would make more sense if he was planning to use this to tank the share price and buy the company back. Look at the design of his other vehicles and this makes no sense at all. There have been several tweets and leaks in the past about taking the company private again. Great way of doing it?
Tesla has a market cap of about $60bn. This product launch dropped the share price by more than 6% so will have taken about $4bn off the price to take it back private, so in the scheme of things hasn't had a big impact on a buy back price. However for the short term speculators who bet on it going up (who he doesn't like), they will have lost everything they bet on it.
