From Dover to London... via Toulon!
All,
Here's a few photos from a most pleasant and recent trip I took to France. Even though I ended up booking up everything last minute, I had been waiting to do this drive for a long time

What I did was take the ferry to Calais then stay home (Paris) for a couple of nights / place vMog in safe hands on the auto-train to Toulon / ride the TGV down South / get the car the morning after, safe and clean / drive down South (a lot!) / go back slowly to Calais, avoiding motorways, passing through Nimes [sigh], staying at my parents for a week, and basically : ENJOYING THE RIDE !!!
I'll take this opportunity to recommend a couple of scenic drives which I found both eye-bopping and mind-blowing (in French

) :
- DN8/D96/D7N From Toulon to Aix-en-Provence via Le Castellet
- D559 From Toulon to Marseille via Cassis
- D979 From Nimes to Uzès (from there, must pay visit to St-Quentin en Poterie village)
- N106 From Alès to Mende (Cévennes + Gorges du Tarn)
- D941 From Clermont-Ferrand to Pontgibaud (Volcano area)
- D925/D940 From Dieppe to Baie de Somme
Hope you like it!
I'm here if you need any further details on any of these drives

Cheers,
Vladimir
