Angouleme
Proper street racing and a great atmosphere. A mini Monaco but without the yachts and toffs 4 GB plated racing Mogs in the paddock, and the black +8 won his race and sounded great. A Morgan main dealer had a good presence in the town all weekend and had lots of lookers. One race had 16 Bugattis racing wheel to wheel. Superb.

I've been to the Circuit des Remparts twice now (2011,2013) and agree completely with your post. Did you do the Tour on Saturday? Great fun cruising through the region and being greeted like royalty in every little village. Definitely one to do again. Gerry.

Lovely Photos, Thanks for Sharing.
I would love to envy you, but will not allow myself the luxury as unlikely to ever get there.....

I see your first pic is Dougal Cawley (Longstone Tyres) in 'Piglet'. Dougal obviously has more pressing things to do than spend time cleaning 'Piglet', which has now acquired many years worth of patination! Great car, great driver. Gerry.

Gerry, we arrived on sat late pm as the tour was coming into town, and managed to find a couple of seats on the street outside a bar, in 26 degrees, with a cool beer and watched them come into town. May look into this for next year. I didn't know who that was (in Piglet), and it was great watching him drive the streets on sat evening to get his eye in. He clearly knew his car very well, with great power slides (in the race on sunday) coming out of a hairpin, and romping away. I think theres another good one of him in the 2nd lot of pics. Frank - if its a cost issue, we got a couple of cheap Ryanair flights to Bergerac (£65 return), hired a Fiesta, and stayed in an IBIS on the outskirts. If you need to keep another half happy as I did, we also spent some time around the Dordogne.
