Yes but you should put something on there to stop pitting if the aluminium is not coated and it will be out in the winter.

Ok if it is away for the winter.

I will probably pick up some ACF-50 when I am at the NEC Classic tomorrow, to be honest I don't really use her when salt is on the roads so I am thinking she will probably be off the road till Feb/March now - busy time of year anyway so at least I won't miss her quite as much..

To be honest I like my cars to be ultra clean (concours usually ) and looking factory fresh so I am not a fan of spraying anything on them that you can see, or that will attract dust and dirt as it looks horrible after a bit of use.

ACF-50 is being considered as I am trying (and failing judging from today's pics!) to not go concours with this car so I can keep using her, but I still want something that is invisible to the naked eye, and easily washed off so I can keep her looking perfect.

I use the oft maligned WD40 on my silencers. Wipe on wipe off.

A rub over with a cloth sprayed with ACF50 will do it. It'll put enough on to keep it clean and shiny but not too much to attract dirt. It's best used sparingly anyway.

The waxes will last for a number of years and can be removed with solvent wipes or degreasers. They are "visible".

ACF-50 will last less than a year in those areas that are exposed to the crap coming up from the road but will be less "visible" than the waxes.

I would go for fit and forget for a few years wax as I have no interest in seeing the underneath of the car as it came from the factory.

Others have other priority's, not saying who is right or wrong.
