Aeromax sitting in front of client office - battery is good but won't start (all lights on - no clicking so probably not a fuse)

Leaving it to cool down for a bit - temp was reading over 100 so possibly a bit warm?. Any other thoughts?

Hi Richard - I guess you've tried tripping and resetting the inertia switch on the fuse box?

Failing that, if you still have the original (red) Banner battery, are you sure it's OK? Mine looked alright and would power lights etc but was slightly down on voltage and caused odd immobiliser faults etc at just 3yrs old. Apparently the BMW CAN bus is very sensitive to drops in voltage. Exide make a good replacement in the right size for the 'Max battery tray.

Phew!
Left to cool down and it started fine.
Will get it checked out, but figure something got a bit hot. Maybe because I had the heater up full whack in the car foran hour previous?

100 is normal Rich; I'd suggest getting it looked at it if it does it again - perhaps it is the starter motor?

Good news. As you did, I would try to restart after it had cooled done, and then if it did not start, I would call the AA man.

Glad all is well now. Hopefully just a one off ... Just a tip if your not already using one ...buy yourself a Banner battery conditioner. It has sorted out my Banner battery a treat. cheers

I had the issue once on my Max and traced it down to the wires going to the main switch to be unsufficiently tighten.

There is on the top screw the main wire and at the bottome eight or nine wires coming toegether on a screw. These are covered with some form of loctite

The wires moved a bit and provided loose contact.

I took the loctite out and could tighten the bolt by over eight turns

That is a very poor engineering, such a loose connection is a design fault

Thanks all. still figure This was surely heat related as it wouldn't start hot - no power issues (battery is tip top and conditioned). After being left 20 mins started fine...
