Hello, On my 4/4 tourer 2000, since a couple of weeks, the rear fog light is always on as soon as I put the light on. The switch is OK and I think that it's the "Fog light control unit" which makes trouble but... impossible to find it. Please help me . Do you know where is located this damned device ?

If the same as my 2002 4/4 it is on the bulkhead tucked up on the right hand side (UK drivers side) near the top and screwed to the woodwork under the windscreen (from the inside of cockpit). I think I had a similar problem and looked at the module (black box approx 5cm square)and noticed it had got damp so used cleaner on the circuit board and seemed to solve it. When I put it back I put a plastic cover in case more moisture got in.

I also cleaned the contacts in the switch, it comes apart like Lego and used Switch Cleaner on that too. (I would try that first to be honest)

Thanks very much Keith. I will try to remove it this week end. One more question, had you remove the dash board to remove it, or is it possible to remove the fixing screws without removing anything

Sorry for late response I have been travelling.

It is possible to unscrew the back if you have nimble (small) fingers.

I have posted a description of how I replaced the switches for new style on my LeMans62 website but at the end of the article it describes how the switches cone apart. It may help.
