I have been one of MMC,s biggest critics of the bump steer problem that some M3W owners have encountered.I bought my car in August 2012 and right from the off was very disappointed with the lack of response from the factory to my request for help to solve what I saw as a problem. Then in March there is a change in management and also a major change in attitude to customer problems. My car was the first customer car to have the steering comfort pack fitted at the factory.I went to the factory to test the car and was quite stunned that such a simple change in the way the track rod is attached can transform the car into in my opinion is now a total pleasure to drive without any bumpsteer at all. I have since driven the car on all my testing routes round the Yorkshire Dales roads which both demanding on car and driver.I can not fault the steering/handling on all types of road surface. I can readily endorse for a very modest sum of money the change that the kit has made to my car,its absolutely superb.Thank you MMC for listening to your customers and sorting out the bumpsteer once an for all. Hi,well spotted, They are a set of Suplex adjustable dampers. These particular ones were the prototype of the ones that I am told will be sold by MMC shortly. My car is also fitted with Suplex rear adjustable units. I have been testing for both bumpsteer and general ride enhancement in conjunction with suplex and MMC. Prior to the management changes this woul have been impossible.Steve Morris and his team are really trying to sort out the concerns of the ordinary customer, that is what I am just a customer.

I was thinking of fitting a set of Protech ali. bodied adjustable dampers to mine over the winter lay up and dropping the ride height by 30mm or so to bring the steering arms level, but I might just hang fire at the moment.
BTW I designed the steering arm riser kit and gave the technical drawing to MMC, who have modified it ever so slightly and put it into production. I said it would work and it appears to.

That's very interesting I am glad you gave the drawings to MMC,the kit certainly works.I can recommend the Suplex units.Lowering the ride hight would cause me problems will speed humps where I live.

David can I ask have you also been testing the new Spax adjustable in conjunction with the Spacer mod and if so what difference in the ride is here between Spax and the new Suplex units, apart from the cost of course. Thanks for putting all those test miles in for us all. Around the Yorkshire dales, you say, must of been terrible

David : that new riser looks like unprotected steel in your photos, can you see any reason why they shouldn't be blackened like the rest of the gear in that area ?

Dab - well done on designing the steering arm riser kit. A simple and very effective solution (the best ones usually are). I really wouldn't bother with the adjustable dampers, unless you have reasons for fitting other than attempting to cure bump steer.

I have not tried the Spax adjustable units.Having tried both the Suplex and the Spax standard the Suplex came out top by a country mile. David
