Lower left corner of the "door chassis", with the door opened, there is a black push button. When you open the doror, the button get "released" and give the "message" to the window to go down (*). Probably is oxidised. First try moving a little bit the screw, if not unscrew it and clean it with a spray circuit board cleaner, it should work. This should cover my poor English (*) I am referring to items 19 and 20 Not at all. Your English is just fine! I will try this approach as well. BTW, was it you who had some query with the rear fog- and reversing lights some time ago and asked me for the fitting instructions?

If unscrewing the sensor be careful - the wires leading to it may not have much play in them. I removed one on my s4 and had to get the dealer to take panels off to refit as the wire disconnected from the switch and retracted inside the body. Once its in there you won't be able to get it back...
The reset method is usually the solution.

I was trying to understand how to access those screws. If unscrewing the sensor be careful - the wires leading to it may not have much play in them. Good point. The first time I had it done by the dealer who pulled some cable. The thing is that, during building, the amazing factory approach is to fix the switch and then to pull cables on the other end, that may end in having very less "free cable".

Yes, it was me. I was trying to understand how to access those screws. I have a copy of the fitting instructions (if you can call it that!) of those lights; but I'm afraid they won't tell you very much. I had to figure it out by myself but eventually got it ... Did you also know that these are lights for a trailer and not a motor vehicle? If you wish, I can post a copy of same to you to your address and you'll know what I mean.

LOL. A trailer? Great! Did you even figured out brand and model? I sent you a PM with my email address. Thanks!

LOL. A trailer? Great! Did you even figured out brand and model? Yes, I did - it's made by Hella, and I have a [Hella] part number written on the box: 8RA 008.405-001. But when I ordered it from Brand's Hatch Morgan in the UK, they gave me a different part number just to confuse matters! I'll see if I can scan the fitting instructions (my scanner has been playing up lately) but if not, I will have to send it to you the old-fashioned way: the Post Office!

Yes, I did - it's made by Hella, and I have a [Hella] part number written on the box: 8RA 008.405-001. This is funny. Look here: http://www.passatplus.de/umbauteile/hella_magic_modul/It seems that this Hella module has tons of different "combinations". I'll see if I can scan the fitting instructions (my scanner has been playing up lately) but if not, I will have to send it to you the old-fashioned way: the Post Office! Make a picture with the phone. It's not worth to send them by post, really, but I appreciate your help.

I was trying to understand how to access those screws. Ciao Ale Those screws are accessed from the inside of the car and not from the underside. I remember jacking the car up and checking from underneath, and also removing the trim panel from the inside; but can't exactly recall how I approached it. Well, after mulling over what I did for the past few days, it all then came back to me! Good luck
