"No admittance" always gets me wondering. I've never much liked being told what to do, so this week I obtained a set of security fastener sockets, so that I can get to places which are not allowed. Those with eagle eyes will note that the bottom row contains the socket which allows access to the box on the bulkhead under which the ECU's lie. From Maplins................ It was quite scruffy under there: This is the black box label: This was the mess under the silver box: And these are the references under the silver box: Anyway,it's all clean and tidy now! PS I flipped the image in photobucket but it seems to take a while to come through..........

Interesting Dave. If the ECU is non programmable as the label states, how do Williams manage to remap it? Must ask them the next time I'm down there.....unless Lawrie is reading this post!

John, that lable is as it comes from the supplier. The new lable stck over it superceeds the old information. In any case what it actually says is "Module not programmed. Programable with WDS."

Interesting as ever Dave. I've got one of those sets, useful for many things.

So very different from Roadster!
Anyway to Jay's comment, the unit should be able to be re-programmed by anyone with the right computer connection. There are types of memory that can only be written to once, but as far as I know they are not used in cars - yet.

Interesting that the black box supplier is the same company that supplies the Smiths instruments for Morgan cars.

Correct John The proof is in the pudding and I think we have done a very good job on the Plus 4

Have Williams been able to reprogram the Zetec (black top) ECU?
