Just a couple of upgrades.
My heater seal was not good, being a thick sponge, shiny on one side and not the other, and messy to look at.
Here it is as original:
A while ago I 'enhanced' it with 3mm HD neoprene on both sides, secured with contact adhesive.
A couple of weeks ago I added a leather top strip from my offcuts box. I didn't expect this to look 'fantastic', but see what you think. The cutting out took a bit of time.
I've had a real creak from the nearside bulkhead for a year, and probably from new. Last week I found the source. The bonnet tape backing strip has about 2 thou movement on the tack, and when you press where the arrow is on the photo it creaks like a good 'un. I've forced some spray lubricant into the crack, while holding it slightly open with a fine screwdriver, and the creak has gone (for now).
Finally I came across an "Anniversary" badge on e-bay. From a Nissan Micra 30th. Having pondered for ages I've put it here. I'm still not sure about it, but it will peel off, its only plastic...........
