I had two fault codes (P0170 and P0172) which are readings for the right and left fuel injection adaptive maps being "maxed out". According to the S&S manual, these fine tune the injection system and smooth things out.
This makes sense from the point of view that the fuel pump motor sounds marginal and I get a fuel pressure reading of 22 psi instead of the 58 psi the S&S shop manual says I should be seeing. The adaptive function just can't quite make up for a missing 36 psi.
Long story short, I ordered a new fuel pump from my dealer. In the mean time, I'll make a stiff drink, position a folding chair in just the right position and gaze admiringly at the fine British coachwork!!

You can reset the adaptive maps and the fault codes. Then you can see if they return in the same manner.
Can't remember if you need to select advanced mode to see these options, easy to fossick around and find.

I used to go for drive with live gauges showing, so much data! I didn't understand but intrigued me .

You need the advanced mode. I did clear everything and it all returned upon startup.

More likely a problem with the hardware than the Win 8 operating system. There could always be an incompatibility problem with a driver but it should have been able to recognise that a new device had been attached.

You want to run it on a Mac? Now you really are a masochist. I have had more frustrations with Apple products and trying to get them to work with peripherals than I have ever had with any other operating system.
