Whilst rummaging around behind the dash and trying to cure an embarrassing wet patch that occurs on the front of my trousers each time I use the washers I came across the relays. I apologise if this has been asked before but I couldn’t find the answer, does anybody know the function of each relay? I really would like to label them up. Also does anybody know the part numbers so that I can obtain some spares?

I suggest you have a look at DaveW's blogs. I am sure he did one on relays a while ago.

Thank you John, obvious place to look. Why didn’t I look there first!
Anybody know the replacement part numbers? Googling the numbers on my relays hasn’t thrown up much.

Extract from this post: http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/187499/1I did another check on the relays. As a reminder they are Tyco Electronics 0-1432793-1, and are diode equipped. Furthermore terminal 87A (centre) is not used in this application. I've sourced some spares from here: http://uk.mouser.com/ProductDetail/TE-Connectivity/1432793-1/?qs=%2fha2pyFaduj8j%2fsWZguNLarOj0hnkzSrHDi%252bshaN3%2f9FOUBqDMX%2fgw%3d%3d From the wiring colours I was hoping to establish which relay did what but it's not possible to isolate function. However number 3 from the left (ignoring the big one) is ignition, because the lights didn't come on with that one removed. The big one by the way is a Wehrle 60 201 002 12v-5A, and includes terminals 53c (convention = washer pump), and 53e (convention is wipers) so that confirms what this one does.

Dave that’s brilliant. Thank you very much.
Another question out of curiosity. Does anybody know the function of the large black electronics module on the left labelled MFU1001-10 ?

Does anybody know the function of the large black electronics module on the left labelled MFU1001-10? That's the one that records your annual mileage and stops the car running if you don't do enough miles.

It says on it what it does- Multifunction Unit. That's like a husband who vacuums the floor, does the washing up, does the ironing and puts out the rubbish all at once.

Perhaps it’s the box that controls all the squeaks and rattles.

I believe it is the box that converts the output from the various sensors on modern engines into the sort of analogue signals that the instruments require.
Aldermog has one, it is inside the electronics box under the bonnet. All the relays, fuses and so on are there, behind the dash is clear of anything, other than the instruments.
