Last Sunday I noticed a creak coming from the base of the nearside screen frame. It could be reproduced when stationary by moving the nearside frame slightly fore & aft. It was a dry creaky noise. I squirted some silicon lube in the corner and tightened the fixings, and hoped.........
But today is was still there after 230 miles! - a good run out.
It turned out to be the bonnet creaking on the bulkhead tape. So I've applied some silicon lube to the tapes and fitted a couple of small neoprene buffers on the rear corners. I can't make it creak now in the garage, but haven't had time to get back on the road. laugh2

Dave

Do you think this will also work for my knees ?

When I read your post I was reminded of a dry creaky noise with a bit of movement fore and aft, I thought a bit of silicon and some neoprene on the corners sounds just the job.

I have the perfect solution for your creaking knees Lightsphere.....

Ask the Doc if he can fix you up with a nipple or two.......
Preferably on the joints, but be imaginative..... rofl

Just a quick update. Vaseline was recommended for the bonnet tapes - now applied and the creak has gone........ thumbs

i have a creaking sound from dash area too. When i put some downward pressure on the steering wheel it stops - so i think its the wheel column/dash making contact.I will have to look at the clearance under there.
