After a year I thought that I should get two spare drive belts. So an e-mail to Rutters started the process.
These are the details. The usual caveat - that things get changed. So bear in mind that my Roadster is 2005 Ch318.
Series Two's are NOT the same engine. (That's not to say the belts are different but you must check..........) nono

First the front drive belt. Crank pulley to alternator. A wide belt with grooves. Turns out to be Transit. scared
My original belt has the following numbers: 1-268 Motorcraft 1C1Q-6C301-AB(6K815FL)TOCJA
Replacement belt (which looks 'right'): 1C1Q-6C301-AD 6K831 TOCJA
Box has biro number MEC0380, and 1x 1 332 733 1C1Q6D314BB It costs 36.36 plus VAT.
When did 'fan belts' get so damned expensive? spend

The second belt, the 'water pump' belt lives where no belt has lived before - over the bellhousing, a legacy of the transverse origins of this engine.
This one is much smaller, but still 26.76 plus VAT.
My original belt has the following numbers: 5LBE-8K543-AA EPDM Made in France
Replacement belt (which looks 'right'): 5LBE-8K543-AA TOCJA EPDM Made in France. Good match eh?
On the card is Motorcraft 3PKx649mm, and 4 513 849..... 5L 8E 543AA. That third character appears as a B and an 8.

Anyway, that gives enough detail for the Ford parts man to sort things out................

Dave

I have added this to my compedium of Morgan Roadster Knowledge and will do the same as yourself by getting a spare of each belt.

Incidently the great weather keeps on going, I have worn out my car this week.

Further I am monitoring the expansion tank for loss and it has fallen from mamimum by a half inch over 100 miles. Not sure where it has gone, could this be a case for the radiator seal stuff you used ?

I found that marking the level with the plastic arrow helped in determining the rate of loss. Check the two hoses which attach just above the oil filter. Above the filter is a simple oil/water heat exchanger (also used on MG Metro!!). It's a simple two hose/two Jubillee clip arrangement, and mine needed tightening, as there was a very slight leak there.
Also check the other hoses down the back of the engine. A finger under each join will show any wetness. (engine NOT running!!!!!)

Then shine a torch under the radiator when cold, and if there's a leak it will show a blob of water. The sealant I used has worked, but it took a long run before it did the job. Warming up in the garage was not enough.

Thanks for your expertise on this. I have just returned from holiday in Spain yesterday so had to get my priorities right with a quick blast on my personal TT circuit then consult TM. I will follow up your suggestions over the weekend

Do these belts have a expected change interval? Is they go in action, I expect it is a simple mater of replacement like with a fan belt etc..

Just do a periodic inspection and keep a spare

You need a special tool and the patience of an angel to change the belts

Both are “stretchy” belts with no adjustment

My cam belts were recently changed by a well known Morgan garage. They had great trouble, as they had to remove an engine mountain & cut a "groove/slot" in it to allow a tool to be inserted to get (I assume) top dead centre. I have never seen or heard of this problem before. Anybody know what they were talking about ?
(2011 4/4 sigma engine) Sometimes things are not so straight forward I guess.

That sounds very odd. I have never heard of that.
