As recently discussed, this is how I attached the tent pole.
This was the thread where I made my 'Winter Buddy Half Tonneau"(Cover).

When MrsW was working Saturdays, this half tonneau cover was permanently on my Roadster over winter. Now she's 'available' it doesn't get much use. But it's more convenient than the full cover, especially when the hood is down for long periods with the hood cover attached.
The third photo shows an L shaped aluminium bracket covered with mohair which rests on the passenger seat back.
The fourth photo shows the neoprene pad which rests on the dash top. I've done a lot of miles with this fitted, and no damage. It does still flap a bit though, and balloons "at speed". The underside is a sheet of neoprene which I thought might reduce the flapping but doesn't make much difference.
