Having endured Tinnitus since youth it has effected my sensitivity to noises.

I have been enjoying driving my 3 Wheeler around town with earplugs. However as my speed increases the wind noise is only bearable while wearing noise canceling headphones. A questionable practice regarding safety while disregarding conversation with a passenger!

So my best option is to replace my standard windscreen with one that reduces the wind noise and buffeting. The advantage of it shedding water would only be a very distant second as far as a benefit for me. With a taller and wider one fitted and with my 5'9" height I hope to achieve a more comfortable quieter ride.

Forget the "M3W is not for you" spiel! I think a better windscreen along with earplugs and a helmet for longer rides would suffice. My question is which windscreen would give me the most comfort? If anyone has had the opportunity to compare the benefits of different ones that would be excellent. Here is the list of contenders…. Let the voting begin!

1. Fairbourne GT 8" high
2. Fairbouren GTS 6" high
3. Factory Large (referred to as a 3 piece screen?)
4. Air Deflector from Australian Model (not sure of availability)
5. One piece large all-Perspex screen on Andrej M3W from Slovakia (custom?)
6. ??? Am I missing any other considerations?

Hi Ken. Not being an owner yet, i can only give an informed opinion based from what i have seen.
First of all, the Fairbourne GT and the Morgan heritage are the same height. The Morgan one is slightly wider than the Fairbourne one.
Do you drive alone, why not swap out the driver side one for a custom sized one?
The screens are Lexan(makrolon), easy to cut on a band saw.

Ken I have the Morgan screen on the Morgan that I will probably pick up next Friday/Saturday. The dealer sells the fairbourne so i will snap some pictures if I can find them close by.

I got the Fairbourne screen because it was the only full screen option at the time. If I was choosing now, I'd probably go for the factory one as it seems nicely designed and the silk-screening on the polycarbonate hides the messy bits where dust & grime tend to collect.

Not sure about that John. I think the Fairbourne is more full - wider at the top - and protects your hand better.

Just to clarify, are you actual able to purchase the Morgan Heritage screen? Last time I checked with my dealer I was told that are not available for retrofit/purchase.

I'd very much like to install the Heritage screen so if you have a resource I would appreciate the contact information.

Not sure if this helps since I had the full Fairbourne screen fitted by my dealer to new car, so no experience of improvement. Decision to fit one though was based on experience of M3W club owner who claimed it was the single biggest improvement to his car, in terms of weather protection, noise and general comfort.

The factory were asked not to fit standard screens (supplied in wrapping) making the dealers fit that much easier. At the time (March 2016) the factory full screen had only just been listed and was inevitably not yet available.

If you want to reduce noise, wear a helmet!
If you prefer not to use a helmet, then yes one of the screens will help (Fairbourne for me too) - and you can combine with ear plugs, helmet etc - or in my case my cap that covers my ears.
Can't say I notice my tinnitus when driving though - maybe it's good therapy...

why not use "pro" moulded (personalized to your ears and to your hearing) earplugs with changeable filter?

Exactly - you'll never make these things quiet, so best to simply stop the noisy making you grumpy. I have a set of ACS Encore Studio Custom in-ear Monitors and their sound quality is quite extraordinary. Plus they cancel out all the external noise when I don't need to have music (or satnav instructions) running in the background.
