I have found a small oil leak under the motor on standing. This has only happened twice with my M3W. I can't see where this comes from. Could this be a leak from sumping & if so how do I fix it?

You don't say where exactly under the engine the leak is, I had a similar leak and it turned out my oil filter had worked its way slightly loose. Wet sumping is a different topic.

I get small drips ! comes from crankshaft seal! going to get fixed under warranty flag If you remove the front cam belt cover you discover oil in there, your oil leak is same as mine!!!

Almost certainly from the timing cover. Oil can weep past either of the three camshaft or crank seals. It finds its way out of the bottom timing cover vent, drops onto chassis cross member then garage floor.

I had a complete new camshaft assembly fitted under warranty on first service, despite the leak being sourced to just one exhaust cam seal. Its now started occasional weeping again after 6000 miles, although not checked from exactly where yet.

Ditto what Richard said , one or all of the crankshaft seals, i had mine replaced under warranty and within a month one had failed again, a bad batch of seals apparently !

Same happened to me. Small drips of oil, especially when oil got hot. Detected a small hairline fracture on the oil tank, just under the outlet. Has been fixed last week and seems to be tight now.

I'm getting the little drops after 5000 miles and 5 years. It's been doing it a year or so. No idea how much oil is getting out.

Further to my original query about a small engine oil leak, i am now fairly sure that this was caused by oil draining from the oil tank to the sump on standing & then leaking onto the garage floor. At a recent service the agent advised that he had experienced a problem where a very low mileage M3W had leaked oil from the oil tank to the sump & then filled the cylinders!
Latest advice from Morgan Cars UK:
All Three Wheelers must be started & driven on a regular basis to prevent oil drain back through the oil scavange pump causing engine sump to be over full resulting in oil leaks.
Question is, Why no non return valve in the oil line?

We left ours standing for a few months, resulting in some oil loss. No oil in cylinders (cranked with plugs out to check). However on cranking it did syphon up to the throttle body and spill out the air filter - another known effect and a little disconcerting. No oil loss at all when in regular use.

Then the question is, how much oil can drain in to the engine without causing any issues when starting?
